Back Again

Yes, I am really Art Fuller. My middle name is Alexander, and when I was a kid, I used to go by Zan. Now you know.

Meanwhile, I hope I can find the time, but mostly the energy, to carry on this blog. I think I will make it a little more personal than before. I will try and do an email notification when I post.

I will start by copying a few lines that I have done. Mostly quatrains, but some have only three, or less, lines):

You cannot step into the same river twice
An old Chinese saying or
Is it from an ancient poem.

Rain. We have had our share
This year
So far.

I looked around me.
The King doesn't care.

Royalty everywhere
The sun goes red
Are we ready
To repeat it all.

A point in space
Is all I felt
It was so lonely
With nothing near.

Trees, viruses, elephants
And bacteria
And the hairless ape
A family

They said never
The tunnels too low
Cars stacked too high
Never in our time.

But now they are running
One after another
High and fast
Through taller tunnels.

Dasys grow short
Even though Spring
Comes nearer
Why is everything turned upside down?

When I was a child
I spake as a child
The days were long
Sometimes they'd never end.

Tad was Japanese
And still bore scars
From our reaction
To his country's war.

The Spitfire pilot
And his German opponent
Worked together
Among the tall test bays.

A long path
Broad and clear
At my hand
Narrows as it recedes.

When I became a man
I put away childish things
I grew in knowledge and wisdom
And remained the same.
